Be kind to your own. Charity begins at home
Seek to understand them better
Seek to judge them less
Seek to be there for them in small ways and in big ways
Aim to attach rather than detach from them
Love them fiercely, unreservedly and unconditionally
For of what use is it to be a stranger’s hero and a stranger to your own?
Be kind to your own

Choose your words as carefully as you would with a friend

Because you care whether they’ll get hurt or not

Listen and understand, don’t just hear them

Sometimes they may not know the right words to use

Understand what they’re trying to communicate

Focus on what matters

And in all your kindness to your own

Be kind to yourself too

Refrain from calling yourself names

You start believing them and become them

Every word you utter matters 

Don’t call yourself stupid, a loser, a fool, or any of those names

You hear yourself say those things too often and you become them 

Choose to consciously be kind to yourself

It flows right on over to all those around you

Be kind.
